Description:
EONGY
Germany’s largest utility, E.ON, fell three spots on this year’s list as its revenue dropped by 4.2%. The outlook for 2014 doesn’t seem any better, as the shift from
nuclear power to renewables in Germany and other European countries has led to falling electricity prices. E.ON says it expects as much as a 33% decline in profits
this year. E.ON said it would shutter more than a quarter of its European plants as it looks to expand its presence in the renewables market and strike up a
partnership with solar power firm Sungevity.
